This incredible 1963 Jaguar E-Type 3.8 Series 1 Semi Lightweight has participated in various races over the years including Nürburgring 300k and 150k endurance races, various social rally events including four Beaujolas runs. It has documented race history dating from 1995 registered with HSCC Mike Adams, who went on to race in the Anglo American. It also won the 40th E type Anniversary race at Donnington.

The vehicle is prepared for participation in the MSA period F, the CSCC appendix K and had an FIA passport in 2011 that can be renewed making it ready for pre-’66 GT racing events such as the Goodwood Members' Meeting, Spa 6 Hours, Le Mans Classic, Silverstone Classics, GT & Sports Car Cup, and Sixties Endurance.

The car thrives in endurance racing and has an 80-litre fuel tank fitted for this purpose. It has a very impressive dyno reading of 328.3 bhp.

Beyond its racing potential, this Jaguar is road registered and eligible for rallies such as the Tour Auto, Coupe des Alpes, or Modena Cento Ore.

The current owner sought Rob Beere to build the engine in 2007, the work included a replacement cylinder block and crankshaft, new lightweight steel con rods and forged race pistons and runs triple Webers. Rob Beere also fitted a Road Race clutch.

The vehicle is complete with many upgrades including outside latches, a fire system with plumbed-in extinguisher, a battery cut-off switch, harnesses, lightweight alternator, race battery, avon tyres, a Le Mans-style fuel filler cap and an electric cooling fan. The vehicle has an additional fibreglass bonnet that is prepped, painted, with electrics ready to plug and go. It also comes complete with an FIA Roll Cage, Perspex side windows, and rear window.

Simply put, the Semi-Lightweight E-Type was crafted for motorsport. With the use of lightweight aluminium for the cars bonnet, doors and boot, this resulted in a huge weight reduction. The vehicle also has flared rear wheel arches to accommodate larger grippier wheels.

The previous owner has owned and loved this car since 2004 but has reluctantly decided now is the time for the next owner to enjoy it as much as he has.
