MGF press car (pre production)
Year - 1995
Colour - Amaranth
Interior - Black seats and trim, black carpets
This car is one of the legendary 30 MGF Pre-production Press cars registered by Rover Group within the sequence N801SVC to N830SVC, of which only 21 are known to survive.
The car has been extensively restored to original specification during 2021/22 by the team at MGFnTFBitz in Derbyshire. This included a full underbody restoration which has been finished in colour and looks absolutely incredible. All subframes have been powder coated along with the suspension, it also has new stainless steel water pipes, hoses, a new exhaust, tyres... the list goes on... there has been no expense spared.
And it has certainly been restored to show winning condition, having just won the prestigious MGF30 Car of the Show award at the MGF 30th Anniversary event earlier this month at the British Motor Museum, impressively coming first out of 530 MGFs & TFs! It was also awarded the MGF Register MGF/TF car of the year in 2022.
This car has the pre-production chassis VIN number SARRDWBGBAD000089, and was manufactured at Longbridge on 25th July 1995, one month before volume production began with VIN number 000251. The first owner was the well respected former MGCC Chief Executive Robert Gammage.
The car is painted in one of the rarer choices of Amaranth, being only one of five selected for this standard MGF pearlescent colour. It looks fantastic and certainly stands out from the rest.
N807 SVC has appeared in various motor magazines over the years including MG World, Classic & Sports Car magazines, MG Enthusiast, FastForward, and Safety Fast. These can be seen in the large history file, alongside a USB containing restoration photos and many invoices, MOT's and so on.
Viewing is strongly recommended with more photos available upon request.
